Dr. Alex Hegg
Dr. Alex Hegg graduated from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2019. He is a USDA accredited veterinarian licensed in both Indiana and Illinois. He is a familiar face around the clinic as he spent many summers working at Diamond H and learning from Dr. Hicks.
Dr. Hegg is a 2011 graduate of Seeger High School and grew up on a cattle farm in Warren County, Indiana where his family raises and shows Polled Hereford and commercial cattle. He was a 10 year Warren County 4-H member where he exhibited cattle, swine, and horses. From high school through undergrad and vet school, he has worked at several mixed animal veterinary practices and completed externships at a dairy practice in California and a mixed animal practice in Montana.
Alex completed his undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences at Purdue in 2015 where he was president of the Purdue chapter of Block and Bridle, worked at the Animal Science Beef Unit, and was a member of the 2014 National Champion Livestock Judging Team. In his free time, Alex enjoys spending time outdoors working with his cattle and spending time with his friends, family, and his dog Holly. He is a member of Hickman Heights Christian Church in Warren County.
Dr. Hegg is extremely excited to be able to come home and to help serve and the community that helped to shape who he is today. Alex is very passionate about preventative medicine, animal healthcare, and providing high-quality medicine to both companion animals and livestock. His specific interests include small animal medicine, equine lameness, and bovine medicine and reproduction. He is very excited to work with Dr. Hicks and help expand the services provided at Diamond H.
